Hello Sogolocs. Thanks for stoppin by my blog. You asked, "what is too much product? Too much product is when your or I mean my locks startted lookin real dull becuz of product buildup. I see that your in the early stages of your journey. I'd like to offer some advice. Stay far away from using too many products. If you use too many it's hard to pin down the culprit that can make your locks look ashy/gray. Another mistake I believe I made early on, is that I didnt engage in prolonged rinses. Currently, I'm using a clarifying shampoo that I let sit on my hair for 30-60 minutes, then I saturate with ACV and let it stay on for 30+ minutes, then I let conditioner stay on for at least 20 minutes. And before and after all of this I rinse for no less than 10 minutes. When I first started my locks I only washed every 2 weeks. I wash weekly now. Learn from my mistakes. I have buildup embedded in my lock that I don't think will ever come out. Remember this, less is truly more and rinse, rinse, rinse and rinse some more
Thanks for the info. I will make sure to not use to many products. I have been very careful to limit use of products. I use Carol's Daughter and Dew Spray and that is it. I haven't noticed any build up.
Hi and thanks for stopping by my blog. Your hair looks great without the permed ends so you ain't missing nothing by cutting them off. Praise God for our natural hair and Sisterlocks. I love your blog and will follow your progress. God bless. Amba
Hi, I love your sogoloc concept. Thanks for viewing my blog and regarding the hair coloring product, Bigen, it's been perfect for me. It's a permanent powder hair color. I add a measured amount to water and mix it and leave it on for about 20-30 minutes. One $5 package is enough for two touch ups. I've never had any skin irritation at all and I even put it on the grey in my eyebrows! It's proved to be very gentle for me, but I would always try a patch test first to be sure. I've used it for many years and it gives me nice, even coverage and it doesn't wash out. Let me know if you need any more information. Take care....
I am a preschool teacher. I have always loved to teach. As a child I would always want to play school and everyone would run. I love learning and teaching.

Yes, Amba I didn't realize all the fun I was missing with the permed ends. Now I can play in my locks without the different textures.
Your locs look beautiful!
